Connecting with others is identified as one of the five key drivers for wellbeing, positively contributing to and supporting mental health. Beyond connective technologies, we can truly and socially connect through shared activity such as craft; research has shown that craft supports wellbeing by creating therapeutic value, enabling social activity and a sense of community and togetherness.

Formed with fellow textile researcher Lucy Robertson (Norwich University of the Arts), this project explores and measures the different wellbeing experiences afforded by traditional and e-textile crafting. Workshops were hosted in Dundee (DJCAD and DCA, Dundee), Edinburgh (MOMA) and the Outer Hebrides.
